A walk about Melbourne Australia

After a lecture at the Waverly Patchwork Guild I had a couple days on my own in Melbourne. There was lots on inspiration in the store windows.



Just look at the pleading in the bottom of this dress.



Lighting...



The colors in this book binding shop just made me want to go in and buy...too bad it was closed.

DoodleZenDotZ Intensive class

In the 2 day Intensive DoodleZenDotZ workshop they did some fantastic stuff. The first day we did lots of doodles and dotting. The we got down to the nitty gritty of original designs, bobbin embroidery, and adding those great dots.

Portrait Quilts class at NZ Symposium

I did a 2 day Portrait Workshop and a few of the students opted to do the face of their choice. Most did the face I provided (which is much less frightening). All of the results were incredible. I am so proud of them. Here's photos from a few who chose their own faces.








The hair is done with individually cut pieces of thread. Excellent solution!

A walk in the Garden in Queenstown, NZ

No jet lag at all. I slept when I wanted on the plane and watched movies when I didn't. Once settled in the hotel, I went for a walk in the beautiful gardens and got some great photos. No need to comment...I'll just show you.

What a great little town.






It is a tourist town set on a beautiful lake and a lovely little park.






I went for a great walk in the park with my new camera in hand...






And got some great photos...more on that in the next post...






This was the beginning of a great trip

New Zealand Here I Come!

In just a few days I'll be sitting on a plane (several planes) for days...literally days...to get to New Zealand. That's where I'll be going to the Quilt Symposium...and I can't wait. The Quilters in New Zealand are a creative bunch.

I'm going to try and blog more just so I can take you with me. And I'll be getting lots of footage just so you can see what its like.
